DAVE MARTIN
Dave Martin’s love and dedication to the game of hockey began from the moment he tied on his first pair of used skated at the age of nine.
He quickly moved up through the Summerside Minor Hockey system and as a teenager he payed both Junior and Senior hockey in PEI, Ontario, and Newfoundland. He was a proud member of the Summerside Junior Legionares when they won the Maritime Championship in 1963-64.
Dave came to Kensington as Minor Hockey Director in 1968 and a few years later returned and began coaching again and continued at all levels.
One of his proudest moments was coaching the Compton Autobody Midgets to the Provincial Championship in 1980-81.
It is his family's hope that Dave's legacy and love of hockey will continue through this annual Memorial Tournament.
