CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Hockey PEI endorses the notion that every child who plays the sport of hockey should have qualified and trained volunteers acting in the important roles of coach, manager and trainer. The following mandatory certification requirements are in force at Hockey PEI.

** ALL certification must be obtained before December 31st of the current season.

SAFETY TRAINER

Team Trainers at all levels require Safety Trainer Program Certification and Respect in Sport Certification

Safety Trainer Certification does not include Respect in Sport Certification.  Respect in Sport certification must be obtained through a separate clinic.

Safety Trainer Certification is valid for 3 years.  At the end of that period, trainers can be recertified for an additional 3 year period, provided they have a valid First Aid training or retake the Safety Trainer Clinic.

MANAGERS and TEAM OFFICIALS

Managers and any registered team officials require Respect in Sport Certification.
